Driver's license continued

Having stood in line for a while and having been sent to a number of different places, I was told the following:
As long as I have a temporary residence permit, i.e. until April 2008, all I need is a translation of my Belgian driver's license, certified by a notary.
Also, I should at all times have my passport with the temporary residence permit in it with me.
Hope this is reliable information.
Getting the certified translation should not be a problem (tfoo, tfoo, tfoo).

Reading: "Frankenstein, or the Modern Prometheus" by Mary Wollstonecraft (Godwin) Shelley: pretty boring so far
