Saltymakovo

Since the weather was splendid and we didn't want to be stuck in Kemerovo for the weekend, we decided to pack up our tent and head for the mountains and the river with Sergey and Tanya in our brand new car.
After about an hour and a half, the asphalt ended, and we soon found out that a 4WD is quite useful in Russia. I'm sorry I didn't take any pictures of the road, but believe me when I say I was quite impressed by the possibilities of my car. I was also impressed by the capabilities of ordinary cars. No matter what people say, European cars would not be able to go where Russian cars go! (or Europeans would not be so crazy as to push their cars that hard ;-) )
Anyway, when we got to our destination after 3 hours, we found a great secluded place for our tent.
Unfortunately, we weren't alone: besides some fishermen, the place was swamped with all kinds of insects (not my favourite animals :-s).
Having put up the tent, we did some fishing (didn't catch anything), swimming in the icy-cold water, cooking the meat we bought on the way, etc.
We left early the next morning, because Tanya desparately wanted to go home.
On the way back, I towed a minibus for about 40 km. My faithful Mitsi didn't budge!

That's about all I have to tell you about our first - but certainly not our last - camping trip.
