Things are moving

According to Olga, my documents have passed the scrutiny of the passport and visa office in Kemerovo and are on their way to Belgium, via Moscow. Which documents those are and where exactly they have been sent, we do not know. Let's hope the invitation is among them.
I got an e-mail from Benedict school today saying my documents are still at aforementioned office and that they want to know what the firm at which I last worked does. They also told me that I don't need any shots, but that I do need a certificate, saying that I don't have AIDS. That I have already, so that's one thing less to worry about.

As for my belongings, I will probably send them there through DHL or Ahlers, depending on which is cheaper. Through DHL it would take about 7 days and cost some €1000 for 100kg. I'm still waiting for an estimate from Ahlers.
Apparently, there are some limitations on the weight per package you can clear through customs. According to one company it's 10kg per package, according to another it's 35, whereas a third (DHL) says it's 50kg. How's that for clear, unambiguous information?!

I've also sent an e-mail to my health insurance (ziekenfonds), asking for information, but no reply yet. Guess I'll have to go there myself, but it can probably wait till January.

I haven't put my car up for sale yet. Guess I'll start in the new year, though I fear I won't be able to sell it in time if all goes according to plan.
