Update
It looks as if all the pieces are falling into place.
There are new tenants for my apartment, who are willing to take over part of the furniture.
I've put the rest of it up for sale and the small things will get sold quite easily. The difficulty will be in finding buyers for the large items, such as the sofa, dining room and bed room.
My diploma and passport have been translated into Russian and are being authenticated as we speak.
The people from the Benedict school are urging me to send my documents, which shows that they're not just sitting on their butts, which - I admit - was the impression I was under.
A colleague of mine suggested I try to find someone who does business with Russia is willing to take all my stuff on a lorry. I think it's a good idea and it sure beats sending everything by UPS or the like. I'm not even sure UPS goes to Kemerovo!
I'm in my last but one week at work. Guess I'll throw a goodbye party next week.
